The apostle Paul was taken prisoner. As he was being transported by boat, he and his captors docked on shore to spend the night. As Paul was adding sticks to a fie, before the fire was ignited, a hidden viper leaped out and latched its fangs onto Paul's hand. Paul threw the snake back into the fire and because he did not get sick or die his captors thought he was demon possessed.
